Cyclestreets.net is a brilliant little website for bicyclists. Just enter where you are and where you want to go and it will take you a proper cyclists route, tell you the distance, how quiet or otherwiseit will be and how many calories you will burn completing it.
This is extraordinary. You can actually choose a route to avoid unnecessary hills. Excellent for the part-time cyclist!

At 6’ 7” (!!) I knew I’d need some expert advice but Comtat went above and beyond. They took the trouble to discuss what I needed, measure me properly and work out my geometry. They even gave me suggestions of brands that I could look at ‘off the shelf’ which they don’t even sell. However, after consideration I decided it would be better value for money to go for a made to measure bike. There’s nothing these guys don’t know about bespoke road bikes and are also great to deal with too.
just had bike service done very quick and efficient ,sorted out gears properly after 2 other shops could not do it properly will go here from now on

Today, they fixed a puncture on my wife's bike in 10 minutes flat (excuse the pun). We have used them often and they're always helpful and knowledgeable in a direct no nonsense way (which we like)
